BOROUGH PRESIDENT KATZ ON THE METS’ NLCS WIN

QUEENS, NY – Borough President Melinda Katz stated the following about the New York Mets winning the National League Championship Series (NLCS):

“Congratulations to the New York Mets on this victory in the National League Championship Series. The Amazins played with true grit, determination and heart – trademarks of every New Yorker – in clinching their first National League championship since 2000. New York is united as one sea of blue and orange behind the Mets in this captivating run. The Mets have done all New Yorkers proud, redeeming millions of loyal fans and even inspiring a few more. It’s time to bring the World Series back to the World’s Borough. Ya Gotta Believe – now Let’s Go Mets!”

The Mets’ last World Series wins were in 1969 and 1986. Their last NLCS win was in 2000.
