PUBLIC HEARING ON MAYOR’S PRELIMINARY BUDGET
 

Queens Borough President Helen Marshall announced that the Borough Board will hold a public hearing on the Mayor’s FY 2010 Preliminary Expense and Capital Budgets on Wednesday, February 18th.
The hearing will be held in Room 213 at Queens Borough Hall, located at 120-55 Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens. (Convenient to the Union Turnpike station on the E and F subway lines and bus routes that include stops at Queens Boulevard and Union Turnpike)
On January 30th, Mayor Michael Bloomberg unveiled a proposed budget for FY 2010 of $58.8 billion – a decrease from the current budget of $60.1 billion.
Anyone who wishes to testify should register, beginning February 9th, by calling (718) 286-2900 between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. The deadline to register is Monday, February 16th at 5 p.m. Speaking times of three minutes will be allotted to those who register. Anyone who wishes to testify on the day of the hearing, but has not registered, will be added to the end of the list of speakers. Testimony can also be mailed to the attention of Carol Ricci, Queens Borough President’s Office at 120-55 Queens Boulevard, Room 250, Kew Gardens, New York 11424.
Those who come in person to testify should bring 30 written copies of their testimony.
Testimony will be used to develop the Queens Borough Board Budget Priorities for the fiscal year beginning July 1st.
The Borough Board is composed of the Borough President, the City Council members from the borough and the chairpersons of each of the community boards.
