In the wake of a devastating earthquake Saturday, aftershocks and reports that some people have not had food or water since the original quake, Queens Borough President Helen Marshall today urged residents and businesses to continue to make contributions to relieve the suffering and hardships of victims.



“The death toll has risen above 800 and many Chilean people are in great need,” said the Borough President.



Marshall urged people to contribute through the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, located on the 23rd Floor of One Centre Street, New York 10007. Checks should be made out to Mayor’s Fund, note: Chile Relief Fund. Donations can also be made online or by phone at 212-788-7794. The Mayor’s Fund is a 501©3 public charity; all donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
