Queens Borough President Helen Marshall takes her turn at the podium with the venerable Queensboro Bridge in background during kickoff event, Wednesday, April 30th, to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of six city bridges, including the Queensboro, over the next three years. The Queensboro Bridge was completed in 1908 and officially opened in 1909. The Borden Avenue Bridge, located just south of the LIE between 27th Street and Review Avenue, opened in 1908 at a cost of approximately $158,000.
