Welcome to the Queens
Borough President's Traffic Safety Information Center! Over the past several
years, the office has received funding from the Governor's Traffic Safety
Committee enabling us to develop new initiatives and continue our ongoing
educational programming to address the unique safety needs of our borough.
You will also find
information about the Queens Traffic Safety Board. In 1997, the Borough
President's office created the first Queens Traffic Safety Board. The
Board's primary mission is to promote pedestrian and vehicular traffic
safety and reduce traffic related injuries and fatalities. Board members
comprise a cross-section of City and State agencies, law enforcement,
insurance companies, hospitals and health care providers, business associations,
community board and veterans, disabled, civic and other advocacy community
groups. Queens is the first borough to establish its own Traffic Safety
Board. |
