Join emerging writer Jackie de Dios for an afternoon reading and writing workshop.
Ms. de Dios is a recipient of the 2017 Queens Arts Fund New Works Grant and will read an excerpt from her work, 69-06 Roosevelt Avenue, a story that follows a Filipino immigrant family who settle in Woodside, Queens, NY during the 1980s. The story follows their struggles, challenges, successes, and heartache in their attempt to build a life and achieve the American Dream. A creative writing workshop will follow the reading. All are welcome and no writing experience necessary!
Ms. de Dios is a native Queens resident from Woodside! She holds a MFA in creative writing from Goddard College and a BA from New York University. She has been published in Newtown Literary Journal and has been a featured reader at The Queens Museum, Espresso 77, and more. Visit www.jadedioswrites.com
