Queens Borough Board Meeting
The Queens Borough Board, chaired by Acting Borough President Sharon Lee, will hear a presentation from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) on the recently released Sunnyside Yard Master Plan. The Plan is a framework for development that calls for the creation of a long-sought train station, 12,000 units of affordable housing, 60 acres of new open space, equitable homeownership opportunities, and infrastructure and other public amenities on a publicly-controlled site equal in size to Roosevelt Island. The Sunnyside Yard Master Plan is directly responsive to community feedback about the need for public transportation, parks, and more housing that local residents can afford. This feedback came during an extensive community engagement process taking place over more than 18 months.
