The 2018 Unleashing the Power of Culturally Responsive Education in the 21st Century Conference sponsored by McGraw-Hill will be held on March, 29, 2018 in the Little Theater at St. John’s University.

This year’s conference theme will be “Dismantling and Addressing Inequality in our Public Schools: Interventions for All Children.” The conference will provide educators and practitioners with opportunities to learn how to address alternatives to suspension and academic classifications that are not conducive to our children’s needs as well as ways to create the most equitable school environments for our children. Whether you are a classroom teacher or an administrator, this conference offers relevant and innovative sessions that drive student, teacher, and school success.

We will focus on what new information or ideas you can bring back to your school that will help increase pathways or opportunities for leadership. Additionally it will expand existing efforts to affect student learning.

Based upon our belief, each and every student needs and deserves a safe, challenging, and supportive learning environment. This is especially true of students who have special needs, cultural or language differences or who live in poverty. Understanding the full impact of inequities is the first step to creating healthy environments, supportive schools, and targeted instruction that helps all of your students engage in meaningful opportunities to expand their learning and heighten their achievement.
