Office Title: BUDGET ANALYST
Number of Positions: 1
Hours/Shift: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Salary:
$55,000

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Office of the Queens Borough President is hiring a Budget Analyst. This position will work with the Budget Director to execute several budget and fiscal responsibilities of the Office of the Queens Borough President.
Duties include:
• Executing discretionary funding contracts, including working with funding recipients to ensure completeness of all contract requirements
• Reviewing contracts with Agency Chief Contracting Officer to determine contract compliance with City rules and determining eligibility of capital funding requests.
• Analyzing in detail the New York City Preliminary, Executive, and Adopted Budget
• Assisting the Budget Director in any other function related to budget and fiscal matters

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Experience with the New York City budget process, New York City procurement rules, Financial Management System (FMS), and CapGrants are a plus, but not necessary. Experience with Microsoft Excel is a must. All applicants must be detail oriented since many functions of the position are time sensitive. Applicants must be a self-starter and organized.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with a major in public policy, public finance, accounting, or other relevant major; or
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with relevant experience
