QUEENS BOROUGH BOARD TO BE BRIEFED ON FLOOD RESILIENCY TEXT AMENDMENTS, NYC CONTACT TRACING

QUEENS, NY – The Queens Borough Board, chaired by Acting Borough President Sharon Lee, will hear a presentation from the New York City Department of City Planning (DCP) on its proposed Zoning for Coastal Flood Resiliency (ZCFR) text amendments. If adopted, the ZCFR proposal would amend the City’s Zoning Resolution in an effort to facilitate coastal resiliency, streamline post-Hurricane Sandy rebuilding and address climate-related flooding concerns.
In addition, the NYC Test & Trace Corps will brief the Borough Board on its continuing efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
This meeting will be conducted virtually, with Borough Board members participating via videoconference. The meeting will also be live-streamed to the public on the Borough President’s website at www.queensbp.org/community-boards.

The Borough Board is chaired by the Borough President under the New York City Charter and comprised of the borough’s City Council members and the chairperson of each Community Board in the borough. The Board focuses on issues dealing with land use, development, public policy, budget, and other important matters with potential borough-wide implications. The Board hears presentations from City officials and others and, as part of the land use review process, is sometimes called upon to vote on land use questions that impact more than one Community Board District.
