Journey to Freedom: The Underground Railroad and Abolitionists
History shall never be forgotten. This #Juneteenth, join QHS to celebrate the Emancipation of the enslaved African Americans in the State. We are here with you, in memory of the pioneer abolitionists; in support of the freedom and justice that have been delayed for black people. This program will put you in the shoes of an Abolitionist, opposing the horrific practice of slavery. The Abolitionists helped slaves who were trying to escape to freedom through the network known as the Underground Railroad. People aiding in the escape efforts were known as conductors. They would take in those who needed help along the way and provided food and shelter for the fugitives.
