Wednesday, February 20th

QUEENS, NY – Borough President Melinda Katz and the Queens Borough Board will hold a public hearing on the Mayor’s Fiscal Year 2020 Preliminary Expense and Capital Budget on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Queens Borough Hall, 120-55 Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens.

The purpose of the hearing will be to obtain the views and recommendations of the Community Boards, community stakeholders and the residents of Queens regarding the proposals contained in the Mayor’s Fiscal Year 2020 Preliminary Budget. This input will be used to develop the Queens Borough Board’s budget priorities for Fiscal Year 2020.

“The budget sets forth how City resources will be allocated and outlines the agenda for City government,” Borough President KATZ said. “The testimony presented during the public hearing will greatly help the Queens Borough Board prepare our recommendations for Queens’ FY20 budget priorities. All Queens residents are encouraged to make their views known to the Borough Board about what should be included in the City’s final budget.”

The Queens Borough Board is made up of the Borough President, the members of the City Council representing Queens and the 14 chairs of the borough’s Community Boards. The City Charter requires the Borough Board to submit a document outlining its budget priorities each year to the Mayor, the City Council and the City’s Director of Management and Budget.
