Nearly 59,000 veterans and their families call Queens home, more than any other borough. And no community within the Borough of Queens has sacrificed more for the rights and freedoms that are the foundation of our way of life than the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform. Therefore, it is essential that the benefits and services entitled to our local veterans and their families are made available right here in Queens
Veterans, and the families of those who have served, have access to assistance from the Office of the Queens Borough President five days a week. The Borough President also works in collaboration with the NYC Department of Veterans’ Services to better provide access to help and benefits for veterans locally. Additionally, veterans can access the NYC Department of Veterans Services directly as the Queens Satellite Office for the NYC DVS is located at Queens Borough Hall.
Assistance with federal Veterans Administrations claims, retrieval or replacement of discharge documents and service-related honors, information on financial, housing, and education benefits, are among the services that are available to veterans and their family members at Queens Borough Hall.
For assistance with veterans’ issues and benefits, please contact the Queens Borough President’s Veterans’ Affairs Liaison Dan Brown at (718) 286-2853 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The Queens Satellite Office for the Department of Veterans’ Services contact is Tanya Thomas, who can be reached at (646) 499-0098 or email@example.com
